ABOUT DILATE

12th - 14th October 2017

Sold-out run at TESTBED1 (Off West-End)

Drugs. Dismay. And everything in-between.
Based on true events, this troupe of young actors offer an incisive and emotional story of a normalised drug culture taken to excess. After all the escapism through highs, eventually the characters must come crashing down to face a domestic tragedy. The play maturely captures the shifting dynamics between a group of people under strain and the far-reaching consequences of one life-changing mistake. However, Dilate is far from moralising. Rather, it’s an unprejudiced and sympathetic account of Matt’s story about how the lives of care-free adolescents may sink into darkness. But perhaps most importantly, told in a way that refuses to shy away from the gritty reality.
